December 24, 2011

We had a busy Christmas Eve Day - we went with some family to see the Jingle Rails - a train set up with places from all around the world. True baby loved it. He was in awe of the trains. Then we went and got cupcakes at the Flying Cupcake. We also had to try and do laundry, get stuff together for Florida, and clean... sigh.. I really need a day to just be! Well... the camera is in the other room and I'm all snug in my bed waiting for Santa to come. But my mom saved the day and sent me a picture of a cute True-True baby - so here it is. A Merry Christmas to you!

Also... my husband and I forgot we are supposed to bring a fruit salad to our Christmas tomorrow until we were in the Christmas eve service... guess who is open at 8:30 on Christmas Eve? NOONE! So.. we may be fruit salad less tomorrow...

December 19, 2011

Ugh.. I get so far behind and then so unmotivated to continue.. so.. here is a small recap. I had my annual Christmas cookie exchange. This is what BJ made for it this year. If I liked white chocolate, I probably would have liked them.. but since I don't really... they don't really appeal to me that much.
Ava turned four... I took the day off and we played around downtown and saw Polar Express at the I-Max in 3D. I thought Ava would love it - this was her first time to a movie theater. She had not seen Polar Express before. But she kept telling me during the movie, "I never want to watch this movie again." She got scared in a few parts.. I asked her again afterwards, thinking maybe she liked it when she found out how it ended. She is still not a fan... oh well...
This is our before picture of our fireplace (well, after we pulled out the ugly brass insert). We got a new surround built and BJ is in the process of painting it. I will put complete picture up when it is done!

Two more days till Christmas break - while I love my job, I don't think I've ever needed a break more than I need this one. I'm ready to get some things under control and have some time to just be.

December 11, 2011

I tried to get a shot like last year's shot (wish I knew how Emily did that link thing, so you could see the picture I'm talking about... but I'm technologically challenged and don't feel like waiting for BJ to show me how... so go back and look at last year's Dec. pics and find it if you like). Yeah... True is much more mobile this year and not as content to sit and look cute by the tree.
This is about the only one where they are both looking somewhat at the camera.
Because this is what happens after 15 seconds of sitting still.
Yeah.. one day I'll look back at this and smile..

December 10, 2011

We celebrated Ava's 4th birthday today. She had a lot of fun! She made a wish to "get a beautiful doll" and then blew out all her candles in one go! We got her cake from Sugar Mama's.. So glad we didn't have to make it.. (who am I kidding, so glad BJ didn't have to make and I didn't have to clean up the mess!)
Seriously... she was SO excited to have happy birthday sung to her and to blow out her candles.
True and Adi had a moment. True loves her.
True lounging on the couch after all the party guests left. He is really getting into reading books.

December 6, 2011

Ava had her Christmas program tonight. Yep, that's her reaching her arms out to me saying, "Mama." She does that a lot. It was a very cute program. She sang some and twirled her dress around. So silly.
She did a great job!
This is what True did during the program: ate goldfish.
One happy girl after the program!

December 5, 2011

Tonight we watched Charlie Brown Christmas. Ava was quite interested. True, not so much. When her show went to commercial, she asked, "Where did my show go?" She didn't know what commercials were! Ha!
True was interested in giving Ava some lovin' though! (Do you see Ava's tv glazed look?)

December 3, 2011

Well... I see all my friends who are doing 25 days of Christmas with their kids. Maybe one year I'll be that good... but we did pack a lot of Christmas activities in today. We went to the Victorian Christmas downtown. We also put up our Christmas tree. Here are Ava and True helping untangle the lights. Or is that tangle the lights...
He was fascinated. He also never wears pants.
