March 31, Day 57

We had another busy day - story hour at the library and then the zoo! It was pretty crowded at the zoo - we also went to the butterfly garden. Ava sat down by this butterfly and was talking to it, but I loved the expression on her face in this picture. She is such a stinker!

March 30, Day 56

We went to the Children's Museum today with Pamela, Eden, and Adi. I think this exhibit was one of Ava's favorite - the water area! She enjoyed gathering all the "duckies." She also enjoyed the "big trains." We had a fun day!

March 29, Day 55

We are trying to get some things crossed off the to do list - so BJ is priming the dresser that is in Ava's new bedroom. We'll paint it black after the primer to go with her bed. I want to get some fun crystal knobs for it and then it will be ready for all her clothes!

March 28, Day 54

Well... here we go! Ava is in her big girl bed tonight! We talked about sleeping in her big girl bed and laid in it for a while this afternoon. Tonight, we put her in.. I laid down with her for a few minutes and now we'll see! She said, "Hold you, mommy" when I was leaving and cried for about 60 seconds. It's been quiet for about 5 minutes - could it really be this easy?? I'll let you know how many times we hear her during the night! (She is gated in her room, so at least she can't wander the house...

Hard to get a real good shot - but here is the new tile that was put in today! We got tile put in the laundry room, entry way, and Ava's bathroom. We went for the darker tile in the entry way and the lighter in the laundry room and bathroom. They come back tomorrow to grout it. Now if only the bathroom vanity would come in - things would be looking better! I am glad we had someone else do it this time - so much easier and way less mess! Next up: new carpet throughout the house! Now if only we could get a new front door to go with that pretty tile...

March 24, Day 50

Ava has been very interested in glasses lately... She found a pair in her drawer and wore them everywhere tonight. It was so funny!

March 23, Day 49

My poor baby Ava was not feeling very well today. When I got her up this morning - she told me, "nose, mommy, need kleenex" but then cried when I had to clean it off... She was pretty out of it tonight, we watched Sesame Street and she just layed by me... poor baby... We got her some medicine and then she perked up some - enough to want to jump in her bed. Next week - big girl bed! I'm dreading that!

Ava and I made these muffins tonight. They are from Tastefully Simple.. while I like them, I don't think they are really worth the money!! Also.. let the spring break countdown begin! Only five more days of school till break!

Oh, the fun we had tonight. We persuaded Dan to let us watch his old Spotlighter dvd.. It was pretty fun to laugh at.. it backfired on Brad though, as we saw a girl he took out on a date (no names given, but it was the girl he took on a carriage ride.. lol). So here is Brad trying to block the tv and we watched this girl singing in a rather unfortunate outfit... (Renee' - we also saw you get a rose from Johnny McGuire.. remember that??)

We had our small group tonight, and it was small! We enjoyed just talking and hanging out instead... this seems to be a growing trend...

One of the things I miss about Springfield is the Grab-a-Java. It was very conveniently located on my way to work... no such luck here... So BJ surprised me by ordering the mix to make me my own java freezes here at home.. now if only he would get up in time to make it for me before I left for work, it would be perfect!

BJ made chai for us tonight.. Ava thought she got to drink coffee. It was so funny, she took a drink and then said, "I like coffee!"

So thankful for my handy dad! Yesterday, we were at Lowe's and ordered a new bathroom vanity and mirror for Ava's bathroom. When we got home, we realized our water heater was leaking! So another trip to Lowe's was in the future - thank you to my dad for installing our new water heater today!

Tonight we had dinner with my aunt and uncle so Sarah and I could work on our flyer for Funderland - an event to get kids signed up and ready for kindergarten.. BJ worked his magic and made our flyers look much more interesting!
