February 28, Day 26

Well, it is that time again and I find myself yet again with no picture to post! So here is the book I am reading right now... I'm not sure why I do this to myself - this book is so sad.. it is written by two parents who kept a journal when their 6 year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor.. The little girl left notes hidden around the house for her parents to find.. I have cried quite a bit today over this book!

February 27, Day 25

We enjoyed a very lazy Saturday today... Ava didn't even wake up until after 10:00! I did work out.. but that was the extent of leaving the house for me! Ava took a three hour nap this afternoon and we just played the rest of the time. Here she is playing hide and seek with daddy - this is where she hides her eyes and counts "two, three, two, three" and then finds daddy who has stayed in the same position on the floor but pulled the blanket over his head.. what a fun game!

February 26, Day 24

Tonight we went to Brad and Pamela's and watched part of this movie. It was too terrifying for Ava-bean. We had to watch Olympics instead!

February 25, Day 23

Ava got another Sandra Boynton book from the library. Each page counts dogs, and her favorite dog is this little dog. She looks for the "yap yap" dog on each page..

February 24, Day 22

That would be the front of my car - the damage from when I went sliding into the truck in front of me this morning... It was a bit slippery out and when I went to stop, I just kept sliding, knowing that I was going to hit the truck in front of me.. what a horrible feeling! I am fine, and the kid I ran into was very nice and had very nice parents that came.. The thing that hurt was when I was walking around the car and I slipped and fell right on my rear end... that is what is hurting tonight! Of course, being pregnant, I was a bit emotional... not a fun way to start my day.. but the doctor said everything should be fine - I didn't even have to go in to see her.. just sore and embarrassed.. but I made it through the day and now I am more than ready for bed!

February 23, Day 21

Ava and I went to the library today and got some new books. One of her books had hippos eating chocolate cookies - so BJ made us some cookies! (and no, Ava did not get any.. she wanted one, but they weren't ready until her bedtime so we said they were for Cookie Monster... but I fear that BJ will give Ava one when I am not around!)

February 22, Day 20

Ava and her daddy were being silly tonight. Ava is in the middle of saying one of her favorite phrases - "there she is." She goes around the house yelling "mommy, mommy" until she finds me and then says: "there she is."

February 21, Day 19

We got to hang out with Renee' and Teagan again tonight - we've had a lot of fun while they were here visiting.. Hopefully we'll be hanging out again soon!

February 20, Day 18

Tonight Ava and I got to hang out with my best friend, Renee' and her little boy, Teagan, who are here visiting. Nicole and Tait were there too, so it was a baby bonanza! I'm sad to admit that Ava was a bit of a bully all night, "My baby, my mommy, my chair...." The joys of a two year old!

February 19, Day 17

We ate at Chicago's Pizza tonight and Ava wanted to eat her pizza like a big girl!

February 18, Day 16

I had a small visitor in my classroom today - I usually get a salad at school for lunch and they didn't have any today. So BJ and Ava brought me some lunch from home. Ava really liked looking around my room and found the A's that are all over this poster, she is so smart!

February 17, Day 15

Hmm... I think I posted a picture very similar to this last year, but that's what you get! I got pretty ambitious tonight: after BJ left for youth group, I gave Ava a bath - and I think she went on the potty for the first time!! I put her on the potty seat while I was filling up the tub, she has often gone potty in the tub while the water is running, so I looked over at her and she looked startled and the water in the toilet was moving, so I'm guessing she went! I will have to put her on the potty every time before the bath... maybe she'll eventually get the idea.. anyways, I did a load of laundry, loaded and ran the dishwasher, made banana bread, and washed the kitchen floor. You would think that I would have accomplished some of this during Ava's 3 hour afternoon nap (thanks to the 2 hour delay today, I picked her up early)... but I was lazy then....

February 16, Day 14

What to take a picture of when I have nothing exciting going on? The book I am reading! I didn't make a reading goal this year, but this is already my 17th book of the year. Maybe I will make it to 100 again??

February 15, Day 13

Ava wanted to go outside while daddy was shoveling.. She told me "bye mommy" and took off down the drive...

February 10, Day 8

My mom came over to my house to watch Ava while I was at work (2 hour delay, yay!). She read Ava all of these books while I was gone - that girl loves to read!

February 9, Day 7

Ava and I got to enjoy a snow day today and stayed inside the whole day. We are thankful for dad coming to shovel us out... Now if only the wind will not blow it all back! We're wondering what tomorrow has in store for us - no school, two hour delay, or back to normal??

BJ left Ava and I for a couple of days but he left a supply of peeled 'orangees.'

February 7, Day 5

We went to a friend's house to watch the Superbowl.. Ava really liked their little dog, Coco. She did not like the big dog - he came to my waist.. Every time Cosmo came by, Ava shrieked...

February 6, Day 4

Ava got to go outside today and see the snow.. she is wearing her 'gubs' and holding a snowball. BJ showed her how to take a bite of her snowball - she did not like that at all!

Wishing this snow would have come early this morning to get me a two hour delay, but we enjoyed a night in watching Ava be silly...

February 4, Day 2

February 3, Day 1 (again!)

So, I took about a week break... I'm back on the wagon and I'll try to make it another year. We're expecting some big things this year with a new addition to our family, house remodeling, and who knows what else! Tonight is an Ava and mommy night since BJ has youth group. We played one of her new favorite games. We lay down, "Lay, mommy" and "covers, mommy." Then she yells "Wake up!" and then we wake up and say good morning. Then we repeat it till she gets bored! I told Ava to pose for this picture and she helped me out... what a sweet girl I have! (and that blanket is Adi's that was left here last week at small group.. I'm not sure Ava will want to give it up... she really enjoys anything Adi...)
