I've been MIA again.. spent the last three days attempting to organize my room! It has come a long way, but as always, there is more to do! But it is starting to look like a functional classroom.

I did not take a picture today... Today was supposed to be an all day working in my room day... turned into a not working in my room at all day because they waxed the floor! Oh well... Picture tomorrow...

So, I worked in my classroom today. Man, oh man. Do I have my work cut out! It didn't help that I took 9 more totes of junk into my room that already seems super full!

I don't know where to put all this stuff! I need to do some purging in the next two weeks!

Love those bright red mailboxes my dad made for me! That's going to be my guided reading area..

I found these when sorting through some stuff left behind... Yes.. those are records for a reading series. Ask me how old those are.. (I don't actually know.. they didn't have a year on them, but they are OLD). Those will be pitched!!

My sweet kids were hugging all over each other. They are just beginning to realize that they can play together. It is a fun thing to watch. Ava was showing us how fast she can run and then True was joining in. So sweet.

We went to TN with BJ's family for a few days, so I am going to catch up once again! On Wednesday, Ava and I went to her last story hour. She really enjoys going!

While we were in TN we went to the aquarium. We touched a stingray and saw lots of cool fish.

While we were gone, we had our kitchen windows replaced. It looks so much better! It is nice to have windows that open and close all the way.

I've been MIA for a few days. Here is a little catch-up! True baby was feeling pretty proud of himself when he was able to climb on top of the laundry basket!

We were cleaning out closets today and found his teddy bear hat... he is so cute in it! I may try and cram it on his head again this winter!

The madness that is the VBS carnival! I had to work the first shift passing out corn. Then True got to share a hot dog with Aunt Sarah.

Ava enjoyed going down slides and jumping in bouncy houses. Check out those dirty feet! We had a feet washing party in the bathtub when we got home!

True got to sit in the firetruck and pretend he was driving. He loved it - cried when we took him out. He had the biggest grin on his face!

It was all fun and games till it was time to go home. We walked to the church to have a pit stop in the restroom before driving home (because you know as soon as we got in the car, Ava would say, "I need to go potty."). This would have been great had I not been trying to push a stroller with a child in it through gravel. Made the child get out and then she fell because she was wearing irritating sandals (which are now hid and might possibly be destroyed). Then she cried/screeched the rest of the way into the church and while sitting on the potty. Argh. I hate how one thing can ruin/put a damper on the entire evening!

True baby thought his musical instrument tasted good. He had a bit of a fever today.. and it is 10:20 pm and he is not wanting to go to sleep. I think VBS is taking its toll on my little boy!

Tonight was the first night of VBS or as Ava calls it, PBS. It was also the night BJ got a pie in the face... bummer that I didn't have my camera! This is the first year Ava gets to be in the big room for the skits and music. She wasn't to impressed with BJ getting the pie in the face. Although she did talk about it on the way home, "if the food carriers call my name I will go up the stairs and they will put cake in my face!" I love that she called them "food carriers" and then later, "carry fooders." Ha!

Have I said how excited I am to be going back to kindergarten? In case not, I AM SO EXCITED TO BE BACK IN KINDERGARTEN! I made these cute little monsters today to go along with a fun kindergarten lesson... didn't get to do this in fifth grade :)

Ava got a monster, too... but she wasn't all that impressed.

My mom and I spread mulch today (with a little help from my dad and Todd). They look a lot better!

Now if I could only figure out how to trim the bushes in the front of the house, our house would be looking pretty good.

Last week BJ dug up some dead bushes on the side of our house. On Saturday, at Lowe's, I found all these plants for $9.50! That is about the cost of one of them regular priced! Woohoo!

We put down new weed barrier, just waiting on the mulch!

Happy 4th! It is 9:15, I've already got both kids in bed and I am about to head there myself... No fireworks for us this year...

True and I had play time after he woke up from his nap... He was pretty excited to play with his toothbrush and a cup. Ava is definitely the sleeper of the two. She was asleep for 4 hours today! Unfortunately all that sleep did not stop her from throwing some fits at our game night (make that, outdoor game night, ha, Sarah!).

We had another busy day... We both worked out, I got a great deal on flowers at Lowe's, went to a cookout/pool party, and napped late into the evening... And I was stuck trying to find something to take a picture of at 8:45... I caught Ava in a "nest" reading stories. I love hearing her read stories to herself...

Pamela gave us some Adi castoffs at small group last night... Ava was SUPER excited when I showed her these princess jammies... I am not a fan of cartoon clothing, but I don't mind jammies since she just wears them to bed. Getting ready for bed was a little bit easier tonight!

This was actually a picture I took yesterday morning, I forgot I took it. I love how True sticks his behind up in the air.
