January 31, Day 362

Aaahh... nothing like relaxing on a night where you know there is no school tomorrow! I'll admit, I am excited about being super lazy tomorrow... I'll be sad when mid-winter break is here and we have to go to school, but I'll enjoy it tomorrow! Here are my two thumb suckers and I relaxing on the couch!

January 30, Day 361

Soo.. I just got on here this morning and realized I had forgotten to post my picture! I got it all ready, just forgot to actually put it up. True has gotten quite mobile and is pulling up on things like crazy! You can see that Ava has grabbed all the remotes away so he won't "slobber" them...

Ava and I made BJ a birthday cake for small group tonight. She pretended to be pig from Word World and was cooking soup... it was very cute. I also let her lick the spoon as evidenced by her "chocwate" face.

Tonight, Ava was all about True. She was all over him... trying to hold him, hug him, carry him.. It was pretty funny. This is where she was trying to lift him up. I even caught her sitting on him. He just giggled at first.. then he had had enough!

January 24, Day 355

This isn't the greatest picture, but it illustrates what True likes to do - eat paper! Earlier tonight he had found a deposit slip on the ottoman. He ate that right up. I pulled the soggy little pieces off his lip and out of his little clenched fists. About a half hour later I was changing his diaper and noticed something white in his mouth. He had more deposit slip paper stuck to the roof of his mouth... yum!

January 23, Day 354

We went to Brad and Pamela's for a little bit tonight and had some ice cream cake for Pamela's birthday. When I told Ava we were going to go have birthday cake for Pam, she said, "But I don't have my party hat on!" We had to find her Elmo party hats and take one to Pamela as well. She really wanted Pamela to wear that hat.. she tried taking it off, but Ava caught her!

January 22, Day 353

So, True is becoming quite mobile.. when we got home tonight, I put him down in the hallway and the next thing I knew he had scooted right over to this mess of cords. He is into everything!!

January 20, Day 351

You almost didn't see this picture... my computer tried to eat it. BJ finagled it, and got my picture back. Ava went outside for a while in the snow. She tried to ride her bike. When she came in, she wanted some "hot chocit." It will make her "strong and healthy." Oh, the things she says!

January 19, Day 350

True seems to fall asleep however he wants. He had Ava's pinwheel in his hand, but let go of it in his hand. I think he fell asleep mid-wave. (You can just see the pinwheel stick right behind his back)

Ava wanted to wear her tutu while she was stirring up some alphabet soup. She is hilarious.

January 18, Day 349

My mom and dad stopped by tonight to drop off a game for me to use at school. Ava would not let Papa get away. She made him take off his coat and go to her room to look at her games. Mom went back to rescue him, and when they came out Dad had "two babies!" Ava thinks it is hilarious for some reason for somebody to hold both her and True at the same time.

Truett is 8 months old today! To celebrate, he crawled for the first time! He was up on his hands and knees and moved his hands and knees both a few times! It was very exciting. Of course, he was trying to get to forbidden toys... but it was very exciting.

January 17, Day 348

True fell asleep on the way home holding onto his carseat. Maybe I was driving recklessly??

January 16, Day 347

My little True is growing up fast! He managed to wedge himself under the coffee table, but he also managed to free himself. He also went from laying on the floor to sitting up all by himself! He's starting to inch across the floor, too. I have a feeling that crawling is not to far away!

In other news, I'm very jealous of all my Springfield friends who have tomorrow off... I will be stuck in a meeting all day... How many more weeks till summer?!

January 15, Day 346

BJ thinks it is funny to teach Ava silly things... The lastest? He plays that "I Whip My Hair Back and Forth" song for Ava to dance too... Oh my, it is interesting. (Also interesting is her choice of shoes. I found her in True's room trying on her old shoes, then we had to go try on some of her other shoes. She found these and then wanted to take a walk outside, I had to explain that winter is to cold for sandals!)

The cutest thing... BJ went out to shovel the inch of snow that again covered our drive, and Ava wanted to help. We found her little red shovel and she 'helped' daddy shovel.

It was so cute because she went over to the side where snow was piled and scooped up a shovel full and then carried it across the drive and put it in the other piles of snow. She was working hard!

January 11, Day 342

Ava has decided these shoes are her "dancing shoes." They are a little to big, it is so funny to watch her try and walk in them right now. She danced with daddy for a while (sans pants) tonight.. what fun!

I'm hoping this snow that is coming gets here in time! I'd really enjoy a two-hour delay.. if we were to get a snow day, I think it would be a jammy all day kind of day.. I can dream...

Mom came over tonight to play some Sequence... Unfortunately, she forgot her luck at home. I won all three games! You can see how happy Truett is for me!

I'm reading another Young Adult book that one of my students is currently reading.. this is book 2 in the series. They are actually pretty good, and at 396 pages, it's not a light weight either!

January 6, Day 337

I think True-baby is going to be a morning person like me (unlike his daddy and Ava-bean!).. He wakes up cooing and talking around 6:30-6:45, and is raring to go. This is how happy he was this morning when he woke up! Makes my mornings a little sweeter.

So.. today was my last day of vacation after 17 wonderful days... sigh... I'm really not ready for tomorrow.. I didn't take any pictures today.. just enjoyed it! So here is one from over break - Ava peeking out of a tunnel...

True got Colts socks in his stocking, so he sported them today. I'm sure that is why they were able to win the game in the last few seconds!

One last day tomorrow to be lazy with my kids... Then the real world starts again. I keep telling myself that I am half way there. Let's pray that a kindergarten job opens up for next year!!

Happy New Year!

We waited until the last minute to come up with something to do.. so we ended up just having Squealers and hanging out with some friends till midnight... We did have a fun game of Guesstures.. good times.
