It is unbearably hot outside.  So this is what we did. We brought the pool to the front yard, since that is where we have shade, and the kids splashed and "dove."  You can see True's awesome form.  They had a blast.  I sweat to death in a chair.  Ugh.  

VBS Week

This is a hectic week - VBS, swim lessons, story time at the library, etc., etc.  Ava is having a blast though.  Last night was BJ's turn to be up for the dunk tank and her name got called to come up and throw a ball at the target.  She had no trouble getting up in front of a gym full of 500+ people to do this!  She was all about it!  In fact, tonight she told me they did not call her name and she was a bit disappointed.  She has no fear...

True stayed dry all through the day today!  He even stayed dry at nap time... He has been so much easier than Ava!  It is a good thing, we are saving about two year's worth of buying diapers if he had been on the same track as Ava!  Whew!

An Update...

 We started potty training True... I wish I could say it was a smashing success... but I will say it has gone better than when we potty trained Ava.  I can't decide if I should let him figure out when he needs to go or put him on a timed schedule - every 45 minutes.  So far, I've done a little of both.  He stays dry when I take him every 45 minutes, he does not when I let him be in charge.  What to do, what to do... He does look cute in his undies.. I will say that.

 Ava has started playing by herself more, which is nice.  She is taking swimming lessons for the next two weeks and I think she is going to pass this level.  Woohoo!

 Lately, True thinks every food is a finger food.  Which is immediately followed by "napkin, mommy, napkin!"

 Truett turned two this past week.  He had a train cake - he was so excited about the train on the cake!

Trains and tractors were his favorite gifts... Poor books and clothes got tossed aside...

My mom dropped off these two trikes for our field day on Friday.  Ava was showing True the ropes.  Summer is almost here!

 Life in motion!

11 days of school left.

True will be turning 2 in a week and a half.

He tinkled in the potty tonight.  Woohoo!

I'll be spending lots of time listening to this jabber-jaw.

She requested me to sing the "hawkingbird song" tonight.

When we were swimming on Saturday, she wanted to swim in the "dead end" and told me she would not "drain."  Whew.. I'm glad.
