I had every intention of posting this summer.. but it slipped through my fingers! So, a few of the things we have been up to before school starts next week!
Lu found that she fits perfectly in this dump truck of True's. She likes to be pushed!
True likes to build!
Walked into the living room to find them like this. Love.
We went and picked strawberries at my mom and dad's. Lu was in heaven. She would follow the bowl wherever it was and eat strawberry after strawberry. She kept saying, "Mmm." It was pretty cute and she was a sticky strawberry mess by the end of it! She had juice dripping off her chin and down her front!
True picked strawberries for about 3 minutes and then he wanted to go play. Ava picked the whole time, she seemed to enjoy it. We will have to go back and do it again!
We went to the zoo on this rainy, rainy Wednesday. It rained pretty much the entire time we were at the zoo. We ran from building to building. As we drove home, the rain stopped and now it's been dry the last couple hours. Of course! My mom and grandpa came with us, it was still a good trip.
We pretty much had all the exhibits to ourselves. The orangutan's building was the most crowded. They were pretty neat to see. So, even though we got soaked, it was a good time!
Tonight the kids found snails and were messing around with them. They decided to try and race them like Turbo! They were pretty brave picking them up and moving them all over. Lu even picked one up! Eww!
True let this one crawl on him. I made him take a bath to get the snail snot off him!
What happens when True goes to a babysitter and doesn't take a nap! He fell asleep watching a show and was a total GROUCH the rest of the evening. Moral of the story: True still needs a nap!
We got to visit with some friends last night! Ava and Audrey hit it off pretty good this time. Ava could not believe that Audrey was taller than her! While Isla wouldn't join in the picture, she and True were friends by the end of the evening as well. True asked if Audrey could come over again today… if only they didn't live so far away! Maybe we will make a Springfield trip this summer!
My internet was now working last night, so tonight I will post the pictures! Lu couldn't wait for her own bath and jumped in to Ava's! She was not happy because she went underwater!
Poor little soaking girl! Maybe that will teach her not to try and climb in!
Where does time go? Celebrating this cute guy's 4th birthday today!
One of my favorite pictures - he is such a sweet, lovable, happy (most of the time) little guy. He was in bed giggling tonight because I told him I was going to pretend he was still 3. Some of my favorite things he says right now: puptakes (cupcakes), hipbups (hiccups), goldbinch (goldfinch), and gril (girl). I'll be sad when he can say all his words correctly!
True's trophy for playing soccer! He had his last two games today. I wish I could say the same for Ava, but she has a tournament in two weeks. She was a bit jealous that True already got his trophy!
This is how Lu slept today during nap time. My neck hurt just looking at her...
Unlike you, Emily, I haven't forgotten to post. I just haven't had any pictures to post! This is a picture from a few days ago, but life is just crazy with BJ gone, teaching, and taking care of three kiddos. We are in survival mode! I was really excited because I heard soccer games were canceled for tomorrow because of all the rain, but then, unfortunately, they are back on! Bummer! I was really looking forward to being lazy tomorrow… I wanted to be like Lu in this picture…
Day 2 of field trips! I got to go with Ava's class to the zoo. Here is Ava with her two best buds from class. We were afraid it would rain, but it held off until we were back on the buses headed home. We had a pretty good day - lots of animals were on the move and it was not crowded!
The orangutans are the new exhibit and they have not officially opened, but we did see one out! I can't wait to see the exhibit!
We went on a field trip today to Morgan Monroe Forest. It turned out to be a really good trip! We weren't so sure it was going to work out due to the rain we had Sunday, but the forest didn't get any rain and we were able to hike, do s'mores, and find caterpillars galore! Fun trip! I am going on Ava's field trip tomorrow to the zoo.. 2 days of field trips may do me in!
Say hello to our new family members: Fifi and Nemo. Ava and True are the proud owners of these fish won at the school carnival. They may not be here tomorrow, they were a bit overfed…
Throwback Thursday. A baby True. He was such a chunk and I just love that little look on his face. He doesn't feel good today.. he had the "hip-bups" this morning and needed some water. He also saw a "goldbinch" tonight at our bird feeder. That's a close one.. Love this little guy!
Not going to lie, really wanted to skip posting, but here it is. I am excited for my kinders to give these to their moms for Mother's Day! We made shrinky dink charms for necklaces. I brought them home tonight to bake them, so I'm excited to see what they think tomorrow when they see how much they've shrunk!
